Position Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced Supervisor or Assistant Manager to join the Tax & Accounting division in the Sydney CBD.
Working closely with Managers and Directors, you'll coordinate workflow across an allocated portfolio, review work and help drive the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services. You'll also play an important role in coordinating and developing the firm's offshore delivery team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review financial statements, tax returns, BAS and workpapers
- Manage workflow, deadlines and resources across client portfolios
- Coordinate work between onshore and offshore teams
- Support complex accounting and tax matters
- Liaise directly with clients, Managers and Directors
- Mentor and develop junior and offshore team members
- Identify workflow improvements and opportunities to improve client delivery
- Support broader advisory and cross-referral opportunities
Requirements
- Strong Business Services & Tax experience within Australian public practice
- Solid knowledge of financial statements, income tax, BAS, FBT and SME compliance
- Previous experience reviewing work and coordinating workflow
- Strong client-facing communication and relationship skills
- Ability to mentor and support developing accountants
- CA or CPA qualification preferred
- Experience with Xero, XPM and similar accounting systems
- Experience working with offshore or distributed teams highly regarded
