A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Director (or Senior Manager ready to step up) to lead and grow an established audit function within a well-regarded, mid-sized professional services firm.

You will work with a diverse and high-quality portfolio of clients, offering far more variety than a typical large firm environment.

• Clients supported through broader business advisory services

The Opportunity

You will take on a key leadership position with responsibility for:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of audit engagements across a varied client portfolio
• Act as the signing auditor, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and professional standards
• Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and audit matters
• Oversee audit quality, risk management, and file reviews

• Lead, mentor and develop a growing audit team
• Drive performance, capability uplift and succession planning
• Foster a high-performance, collaborative team culture

• Own and manage key client relationships at a senior level
• Act as a trusted advisor, delivering high-quality service and insights
• Identify opportunities to deepen and expand client engagements

• Play a key role in growing the audit practice and fee base
• Identify and convert new business opportunities
• Contribute to the broader strategic direction of the firm
• Work closely with other service lines to drive cross-referrals

About You

You are an experienced audit professional who combines strong technical capability with commercial acumen.

You will bring:

• RCA qualification (or near completion)
• Proven experience in audit at Senior Manager / Director level
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement ability
• A track record (or genuine interest) in business development
