This is a hands-on, second-in-command role working directly with the Managing Partner, taking ownership of day-to-day operations across a 30+ person firm.

The Role
You will act as the operational backbone of the business, driving structure, performance and alignment across teams.
Operations & Performance
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple business units
- Improve workflows, systems and delivery processes
- Drive utilisation, capacity planning and workflow management
- Implement reporting on key metrics (WIP, turnaround times, team performance)
- Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions
- Lead, mentor and support Managers and team leaders
- Establish clear accountability, roles and performance expectations
- Oversee hiring, onboarding and team development
- Strengthen communication and alignment across teams
- Build a high-performing, collaborative culture
- Translate the Managing Partner’s vision into execution
- Drive firm-wide initiatives and operational improvements
- Support scaling through improved structure and processes
- Take ownership of internal coordination, freeing up leadership capacity
- Improve visibility of profitability, margins and resource allocation
- Support pricing, resourcing and operational decision-making
- Ensure consistency and quality of client delivery
- Contribute to growth initiatives and client strategy
- 10+ years’ experience in professional services (accounting, consulting or similar)
- Proven experience in operations, practice management or leadership roles
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on performance and efficiency
- Comfortable managing multiple teams and competing priorities
- Systems and process-driven mindset
