Director - Accounting, Tax & Advisory

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Accounting, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of private business and family groups, delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory outcomes. You'll be trusted as a key client adviser, and supported to lead, mentor and grow a capable team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of accounting, tax and advisory services across your client portfolio
- Overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns
- Preparing and presenting practical, strategic tax advice
- Managing client relationships with clear, timely and high-quality communication
- Coaching and mentoring accountants and support staff to build capability and confidence
- Managing team workflow, WIP, productivity and budgets to ensure smooth delivery
About You
You're an experienced public practice professional ready to step into a role with real autonomy and influence. You enjoy developing people, helping clients navigate complex issues, and delivering advice that makes a genuine difference.
You will bring:
- Current experience in a Manager role within public practice
- CA or CPA qualifications
- 10+ years' public practice experience
- A proactive, self-directed working style and strong accountability
- Confidence managing client relationships end-to-end
- Proven experience mentoring staff and leading team workflow
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, consultative approach
