Senior Finance Leadership Role | Premium Hospitality Business
We are partnering with a flagship, premium hospitality venue to appoint an experienced Financial Controller into a key senior leadership position.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role leads the finance function and plays a critical part in the commercial, operational and strategic success of the business. It is a hands-on position suited to a finance leader who enjoys working close to operations in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will have end-to-end responsibility for financial management, compliance, payroll, systems and reporting, while leading a small finance team and partnering closely with department heads.
This role combines strong technical accounting with commercial insight, leadership and operational involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
- Manage cash flow, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Deliver clear, insightful financial and revenue analysis to support decision-making
- Oversee payroll processing, enterprise agreement compliance and statutory obligations
- Lead EOFY, audits and liaison with external advisors
- Drive financial modelling, pricing and cost-of-sales analysis
- Oversee finance systems, payroll platforms and core IT processes
- Develop and maintain finance SOPs and internal controls
- Lead, coach and develop a small finance team
- Act as a trusted financial partner to the CEO and senior leadership team
About You
You are a commercially minded Financial Controller with a strong hospitality background and the confidence to operate at senior leadership level.
You will bring:
- CPA or CA qualification (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance role, ideally within hospitality, restaurants or multi-venue operations
- Skilled in stock and cash control procedures
- Strong payroll and industrial relations knowledge
- Attention to detail; conscientious and autonomous
- Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to collaborate across all levels
- Confident leader who can coach, develop, and motivate a small team
- Organised and proactive, with the ability to balance pace with accuracy
- Commercially minded, with initiative to identify improvements and support business growth
- Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in a dynamic, service-driven environment
