Our client, a well-established and actively growing accounting and advisory firm based in North Sydney, is seeking an Associate Partner to join their Business Services & Tax leadership team.
This is a genuine career-track opportunity for a high-performing senior leader ready to step into a leadership role, influence strategy, and shape client outcomes.
Importantly, our client has a strong mandate for growth, including an active acquisition strategy, making this an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys building, integrating, and scaling a practice.
The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of a high-quality SME and private client portfolio, lead and develop a capable team, and work closely with the Partner group to drive growth across compliance and advisory. The firm is modern, well-resourced, and focused on creating a sustainable, people-first culture.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of Business Services & Tax clients (SME, family groups, investors)
- Deliver and review tax compliance and advisory work (income tax, CGT, structuring, Div 7A, trusts)
- Act as a trusted adviser - identify needs, provide solutions, and broaden services
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and managers
- Contribute to practice management: workflow, quality control, process improvement
- Support business development through referrals, networking, and proposals
- Play a key role in growth initiatives, including supporting the onboarding/integration of acquired client bases (where relevant)
About you
- CA/CPA qualified (CTA advantageous)
- Proven experience at Senior Manager / Director / Associate Partner level in public practice
- Strong technical capability across Business Services and tax advisory
- Confident client-facing leader with commercial acumen
- Enjoys leading people, building capability, and improving delivery
- Motivated by growth and ready for a seat at the table
